The Triple Beam Balance Game - Learn and Practice Reading a Triple Beam Balance
Instructions:
- This game makes practicing your triple beam balance scale reading skills fun and easy.
- You can play this game using a mouse or a touchscreen.
- Press the Play Game button to start the game.
- An object will appear on the weighting plate of the triple beam balance.
- Using your mouse or finger, click or tap and hold each of the three weight poises, then slide them along the beams to balance the object.
- If you are not able to hit exactly the right spot by sliding, you can use the plus and minus icons below the triple beam balance to control the weight poises.
- When the scale is balanced, the pointer will turn red.
- Now, click on the numbers below the triple beam balance or use your keyboard to enter the weight of the object.
- After you have entered the weight, click/tap the "Submit Answer" button.
- For each correct answer, you will be awarded points. Your score is displayed on the left side of the Results Bar that appears below the triple beam balance.
- Points are awarded based on the following table.
Level Time Limit Points 1 40 seconds 10 2 35 seconds 20 3 30 seconds 30 4 25 seconds 40 5 20 seconds 50 6 15 seconds 60 7 10 seconds 70 8 5 seconds 80 - Each time you correctly answer 5 measurements, you will advance to the next level. Your current level is indicated in the Results Bar below the triple beam balance.
- The timer is represented to the right of the score in the Results Bar. As time passes, the bar will get shorter.
- If you have not entered the correct measurement when the time runs out, you will receive a strike.
- For each incorrect answer, you will receive a strike. After three strikes, your game is over. The number of strikes you have received is indicated on the right side of the Results Bar.
- Click the Settings button to adjust your preferences for the game.
- Timer: The default setting is On. Select Off to have unlimited time to submit your answer.
- Sounds: The default setting is On. Select Off to disable all game sounds.
- The settings you have selected are stored in your browser for the duration of your session. You can refresh your browser to start a new game, but if you close it, the settings will reset to default the next time you visit the game.
